An interesting question about the American view of bravery →

I’ve been reading coverage about the terrorist attack in Norway and I ran across an article with this headline
Norway attack: Youth camp official plays dead to survive shooting
I read the article and it left me with some lingering questions that I’ll now pose to you. Was the camp official smart or a punk to play “dead” ? Was it his responsibility to try and save the children or was it a better move to wait for the cops to show. I don’t know for sure, but like I said…interesting questions.
“The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without the work.”
—Emile Zole via Shakespeare’s Ghozt Shout out to M.G.M. for finding this one
“But we were born of risen apes, not fallen angels, and the apes were armed killers besides. And so what shall we wonder at? Our murders and massacres and missiles, and our irreconcilable regiments? Or our treaties whatever they may be worth; our symphonies however seldom they may be played; our peaceful acres, however frequently they may be converted into battlefields; our dreams however rarely they may be accomplished. The miracle of man is not how far he has sunk but how magnificently he has risen. We are known among the stars by our poems, not our corpses.”
